Fabric hunting
Ok so I need to find a cheap suitable alternative to a wool fabric at the 11th hour in the centre of London!!!!! This is not good!!!! I need something with a structure thats heavy wight and will not fray when I cut into it. All I can think of is fleece but most are too thin or not bound enough to hole a shape efficiently!!!!!! My tutor also doesnt think that buying a cheap fleece blanket would work and I agree. She suggested army blankets but I am not quite sure what she means. In my eyes what I believe to be an army blanket would be something like a thick horsehair blanket,...you know like the itchy ones tat you have under a quilt in a cheap hotel so that they dont have to buy duvets! I think that would be ideal however, trying to find an army surplus store nearby isnt possible and when I looked online for some they dont really exist within the range of a student budget!!!!!! This is killing me! So far I have spent 5 hours scouring the internet and have resound myself to the fact that I need to give up in a little bit and get some sleep. Am also now considering using a heavy weight curtain liner as I think it will hold a shape better than fleece but less firmly than felt?!?!?! I dont know will it work? MacCulloch and Wallis here I come,...the proof will be in the pudding but at £5 a meter it means I am going to be skint for quite a while to come.
